Frequently Asked Questions

Clear information to help you get started with confidence. Don't see your question? Call or text (239) 221-4681 — a real person answers.

How much does tax preparation cost in Bonita Springs, FL?

Most Bonita Springs preparers price by complexity: a simple W-2 return costs the least, and self-employed or business returns cost more because they need extra schedules. Universal Taxes & More quotes you a flat, up-front price after a quick look at your documents — no hourly billing, no surprises, in English or Spanish. See our pricing page for details.

Do you prepare business tax returns?

Yes. We file returns for LLCs, S-corps, C-corps, and self-employed workers, and handle quarterly estimated taxes year-round.

When are quarterly estimated taxes due?

Quarterly estimated taxes are due April 15, June 15, September 15, and January 15 of the following year (or the next business day when those dates fall on a weekend or holiday). If you're self-employed in Florida, Universal Taxes & More calculates each payment for you so April never brings a surprise.

Do I need an ITIN to file taxes in Florida?

You need an ITIN if you earn income in the U.S. but aren't eligible for a Social Security number. The IRS issues ITINs so you can file and pay taxes legally — and filing builds a documented history. Universal Taxes & More prepares first-time W-7 applications and renewals from our Bonita Springs office.

Do you offer bookkeeping and payroll?

Yes — monthly or quarterly bookkeeping, plus full payroll with the taxes and filings handled for you.

What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

A bookkeeper records and organizes your daily transactions — sales, expenses, and bank reconciliations. An accountant interprets those records: preparing tax returns, planning estimated payments, and advising decisions. Most small businesses need both, which is why Universal Taxes & More handles the books and the taxes together under one roof.

What does a notary public do?

A notary public checks your identification and watches you sign a document in person — that is the legal role, and it is why you must appear with valid photo ID. Two things worth knowing: a U.S. notary public is not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice, and that is different from a 'notario público' in Latin America, who is a licensed attorney — the words look alike but mean different things. Universal Taxes & More has been a Florida notary since 2011, and we will always tell you when a question needs an attorney.

Is document preparation the same as legal advice?

No. We prepare and organize your documents, but we don't give legal advice. For legal questions, please consult a licensed attorney.

How much does a divorce cost and how long does it take?

Every case is different, so we don't post one price. Book a free consultation and we'll talk through your situation, explain the documents we can prepare, and give you a clear next step and price. Document preparation is not legal advice.

Can I upload my documents online?

Yes. Choose Start online on the home page, attach your documents securely, and we'll take it from there. You can also bring them to the office.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments get you the fastest service — book online or call. Walk-ins are always welcome when the schedule allows.

Where is your office located?

We're at 3401 Pelican Landing Pkwy #2, Bonita Springs, FL 34134 — just off US-41 near Coconut Point. We serve Bonita Springs, Estero, Naples, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Lehigh Acres.

Do you help after tax season?

Yes — Universal Taxes & More is open all year, not just from January through April. Outside tax season we handle bookkeeping and payroll, ITIN applications and renewals, notary services and document preparation, immigration forms, certified translations, new business formation (LLCs and EINs), and divorce and marriage paperwork. We also help with IRS letters, amended returns, and planning ahead so next season is simple. Whatever comes up during the year, you have a local team you can call.
